Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge champ Thomas Sargent to make street circuit debut

Recently crowned Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge Series winner Thomas Sargent’s season just yet after confirming his participation at the Valo Adelaide 500 driving the same Tegra Australia Porsche 991.2 GT3 Cup Car in the final round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS.

Contesting the event in the GT Challenge Class, Sargent has entered the event to gain mileage ahead of his campaign in the Porsche Carrera Cup North America with former rival squad McElrea Racing.

Adelaide will mark Sargent’s street circuit debut and comes after taking the series victory in Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge, which continues a successful period for Sargent and the CHE Racing Team after both secured the Australian Formula Ford Series the previous year.

Sargent will contest races at various street circuits next year including the legendary track at Long Beach and will use Adelaide to prepare for this.

Coming off a successful campaign in the second-tier Porsche series where Sargent took victory in seven races this season including a clean-sweep at Queensland Raceway.

The Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS will contest three 40-minute races this weekend in Adelaide, the first time it has competed in the city since 2017.
