Jimmy Piszcyk has secured a clean sweep of victories in the opening round of the New South Wales Formula Ford Championship at Sydney Motorsport Park over the weekend.
In front of a strong 16 car field amongst mixed Sydney conditions, the South Australian was sublime, qualifying on pole and winning all three races in his CHE Racing entry.
The wins were his first in Formula Ford and sets him up to continue his push towards success in the Australian Formula Ford Series where he currently sits second in the title chase.
The team’s second entry for 16-year-old Imogen Radburn also saw her continue her excellent rise in what was only her second car race.
Radburn qualified sixth and finished seventh, seventh and sixth in the three races.
Like Piszcyk, these were her best-ever race results in Formula Ford competition.
Weather conditions at Sydney were mixed, to say the least, with Friday’s practice almost a wash out, followed by a mixed and unpredictable day on Saturday, followed by a welcome dry change on Sunday.
The CHE Racing Team now puts its Formula Ford focus towards the second round of the NSW state Formula Ford titles in mid-May, followed by the third round of the Australia championship a week later at Winton, supporting the Repco Supercars Championship.

“It was a great weekend. The team had the car on rails every session and it was a pleasure to drive,” said
“My job was made easy. I just had to sit in, drive the thing.
“That was my first-ever win in Formula Ford, and to top it off by getting the clean sweep was amazing.
“We did this round because we had a big gap between national rounds, so we did this for testing and practice. And it paid off. We also have a round at Sydney later in the year, and regardless of the weather conditions, we have some data.
“Getting the first race win now, hopefully can get that momentum to come up to the next national round at Winton.”
Imogen Radburn
“It’s was a pretty cool weekend and we were able to make some great progress,” said Radburn.
“The weekend was full of changeable weather conditions, especially Saturday when it was wet and dry and everything in between. There was lots of battling with other cars and I managed to get the better of some of the others.
“That’s the first racing I've done in the proper wet, and it was very challenging, especially when Cam was encouraging me to go faster and brake deeper.
“I enjoyed some really good battles, but I was most happy with the final race. I had a really good start, got straight into sixth and I just had to hold off and defend.
“I feel like I’m making good progress, so I’m looking forward to the next time I’m in the car. We race at Wakefield next but I’m hoping to get a test day prior to it.”
Cameron Hill
“I’m really happy with both drivers this weekend. They were dealt with some very tricky and mixed conditions. I don’t think the track was the same in any session until Sunday,” said Hill.
“Jimmy drove exceptionally well. He deserved every win and you can see that he is really progressing as a race driver.
“Imogen improved each session and I’m really happy with how she is coming along.”
