The CHE Racing Team completed the final round of the Australian Formula Ford Series at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park on a high by finishing within the top 10 on multiple occasions in addition to the outright standings.

Lachlan Strickland finished his maiden national series campaign in the top 10 and an 11th for Imogen Radburn highlighted a solid weekend of competition.

Qualifying a strong fourth, Strickland opened his account at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park with an 11th, before capping the event off with two eighths solidifying him as a driver to watch in future seasons.

Progression was the key for Radburn as by the end of the event was up with the backend of the top 10 providing solid momentum into 2024. After qualifying in 19th, Radburn moved forward to 18th in Race 1, before breaking the top 15 in the second event and nearly making the top 10 in 11th in what was a safety car shortened affair.

The CHE Racing Team thanks the crew, drivers and supporters for the 2023 season.

“A solid weekend here at Shell V-Power Motorsport Park for the last round of the Australian Formula Ford Series,” said Radburn.

“We didn’t start practice how we wanted with a gearbox problem, but we managed to go from 19th to 11th in the last race. I was very happy with my result in the final race, despite the mixed conditions.

“A massive thank you to the team and my sponsors for letting me be here racing. It wouldn’t be possible without you guys, so we look forward to next year.”

“Overall, it was a fantastic weekend, a lot of PBs smashed and a lot of results I have been wanting from the start of the year have really come to fruition now,” said Strickland.

“I’m very excited, there was a lot of pace and in Race 2 we managed to get the fastest lap, which I’ve never had the privilege of having, so that was pretty cool. Also, qualifying on the second row on Saturday.

“We threw it away a little bit and it was my fault, I just went backwards in Race 1, then moved forward in the second, but it was a safety car heavy in the finale.

“As it’s the end of the year I want to send a big shoutout to Rightway Insurance Services, dad, mum, CHE Racing Team and I can’t wait for next year, it’s going to be pretty mega.”
