Leading Australian Formula Ford Series team CHE Racing has confirmed that title leading driver James Piszcyk will not compete in the final round of the Formula Ford title at Sydney Motorsport Park this weekend.
After six rounds, Piszcyk currently holds an 11 point lead in the title chase, with just three races of the season-long battle remaining.
South Australian Piszcyk has elected to head to the UK to complete a Formula 4 test with a British-based team instead of completing his Australian Formula Ford season.
It has been a hard-fought season against strong competition, with the title lead swinging between Piszcyk and Team Sonic driver Valentino Astuti. Piszcyk took the lead at the third round with a strong performance at Winton Motor Raceway. He has led the title race ever since.
It is disappointing news for the CHE Racing Team who were aiming to claim back-to-back Formula Ford crowns after Thomas Sargent dominated the 2021 series.
CHE Racing's Zak Lobko will continue with the team in the final round. He currently sits 10th in the series ladder. Young female driver Imogen Radburn will also return for her second national series round with the team.
The final round at Sydney Motorsport Park kicks off this Friday with private practice ahead of two days of racing.

"It is really disappointing that we confirm that James will not compete in the final round of the Australian Formula Ford Series at Sydney Motorsport Park," said Cameron Hill.
"James and our team have worked very hard to get into this position, and to learn that our leading driver would not contest the last round is crushing.
"It has been a really tough, competitive year against great competition. Our whole team has felt that we have earned the right to fight for the title in the last round, and to not complete the year, as we had all intended, is a huge shame.
"Myself and the whole CHE Racing Team wish James the absolute best with his future endeavours. I really want to see him succeed in the future, and I hope the direction he has elected to take serves him well.
"We will be at Sydney with our other drivers Zak Lobko and Imogen Radburn, we will be aiming to see them move up a few more positions in the final round."
